ServiceCEO Customer Named Small Business Person of the Year
The United States Small Business Administration has named Long Island's Teresa Ward, of Teresa's Family Cleaning, as it's Small Business Person of the Year.
Teresa Ward, the creator of Teresa's Family Cleaning, a Long Island based, home/commercial cleaning service provider, has been named as the 2009, New York State Small Business Person of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration.
Each year since 1963, the President issues a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week. Small Business Week recognizes outstanding small business owners for their personal successes and contributions to our Nation.
In 2009, the SBA will honor the estimated 27.2 million small businesses in America, which represent more than 99% of all employers, provide 60-80% of new jobs, and generate a majority of American innovations.
In naming Teresa Ward, Darryl K. Hairston, the acting administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, has cited her hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to her community. Teresa Ward is well known in the Long Island community for her philanthropic contributions to numerous charitable organizations. "You can be proud," says Mr. Hairston to Ms. Ward, "of the role you are playing in our Nation's economic recovery."
Teresa's nomination has earned her an invitation to attend the National Small Business Week celebration. The event will be held in Washington DC, from May 17th to the 19th of this year at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
