  Handyman Network Franchise Deploys ServiceCEO to Manage Business Operations, Improve Efficiencies and Lower Costs

Handyman NetworkInsight Direct is pleased to announce that Handyman Network out of Long Beach, CA has joined our growing list of franchise customers.

Handyman Network has selected and begun to implement ServiceCEO to manage the company’s network of franchisees. Prior to ServiceCEO, the franchise managed its business operations with third-party software programs for several years until the company simply outgrew them and required a more complete business management solution. That’s when the company selected ServiceCEO from among a host of other software programs.

“Due to the rapid growth of our business, it was important for us to find a solution that catered to the service industry and that could meet our existing and future needs,” said Handyman Network President and CEO Brian Kaskavalciyan.

Training Classes Galore!

We have added, as part of our Assured Success program, a StartingRIGHT class to Training Classesour lineup of training classes each week. The StartingRIGHT class introduces new ServiceCEO customers to the Member Center and all the resources needed to get started with training and using ServiceCEO. The class will be offered every weekday at different times of day.

Also, check out our new series of Q&A training sessions for specific industry groups:  Computer and Telecom, Residential and Commercial Cleaning, Building Repair and Maintenance, Outdoor Maintenance, and Appliance Installation and Maintenance.  Each industry group class will be offered once per week.

ServiceCEO Tip of the Month

Auto-Calculating Percentage Discounts for Service Plan Customers

Pricing levels is a feature that has just been completed in the ServiceCEO 6.1 release that will allow ServiceCEO customers to create discounts and markups based off of Master Service/Product Costs or Sell Price. Keep an eye out for the beta announcement of 6.1 and be sure to join in to be one of the first customers to use this feature.

In the meantime, we have a great alternative for you. Just follow the two easy steps below.

Step 1:
Set up a Service Item entitled "Preferred Customer Discount - 15%"(and another at 10%, at 20% and at whatever other percentages you give).

Step 2:
When you designate the Price of this Item, make it "-0.15" (for 15% discounts) or "-0.20" (for 20%) or for whatever discount percentage you need.

By using this method, you will probably not need a calculator. You can look at the total price at the bottom right of the Products and Services window at the Job level and just type that number in the Quantity field for the "discount item" and the actual discount amount will be calculated (as a negative number) and deducted from the total.
