Data Services & BI Engineer

Job Description

The Data Services & BI Engineer plays a key role in the success and happiness of our customers in realizing the full potential of our management software.

This is accomplished by helping our new customers get up and running with their past information by performing data conversions from their current software or spreadsheets into our SQL based ServiceCEO software package. This role also helps our new and existing customers get the business information they need to analyze the powerful data that our software contains for them to make the best decisions they can on how to run their service company.

This is a fun and challenging position that is always working on new projects that will typically last anywhere from 3 hours to 2 weeks in length.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our customers on data conversion and custom report projects.
- Gather requirements from users. Help translate those requirements into working data model designs.
- Perform DTS and ETL jobs from Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Camelot, QuickBooks, ACT! and other competitive products.
- Modify existing and develop new custom reports using Crystal Reports.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of SQL coding/querying skills and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 including T-SQL, query performance and tuning, stored procedures, functions, triggers indexes and scheduled tasks.
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports and features like drill-down, charts, dashboards, crosstabs, sub-reports, variables and control structures.
- Hands on experience with RDBMS database concept.
