Beta Testing

Functional Focus of Beta Program - The focus of the Beta Program will be on the following new features:
  • Alerts for Credit Limit, Past Due and Manual
  • Custom Fields for Customers, Jobs, Employees, Service Contracts, Products & Services
  • Customer Record Merging
  • Contact field on Jobs and Estimates
  • Integration with QuickBooks® Classes (linking to ServiceCEO profiles)
  • Integration with Google Maps®
  • Grid Enhancements (including save sort, column ordering, save column width) in Office Duties and Customer Record

For complete details, please see the ServiceCEO 6.2 Release Notes .

Since significant modifications have been made to existing areas of the application, we recommend that testers also focus on mirroring their daily ServiceCEO activities on the Beta application. All financial reports should be compared with the live versions for accuracy. In addition, we recommend that testers compare the following information between versions: Invoices, Accounts Receivables, Revenue Reports, Statements, Detailed Statements, Job Costing, Adjustments, Misc. Charges, Payroll, Commissions, Dispatches, and employee assignments to teams. Any discrepancies should be reported as bugs.

Beta Kick Off Meeting

Beta Kick Off Meeting - Beta Testers who were not able to attend the meeting please take the time to watch this video to learn more about the Beta Process and ServiceCEO 6.2

Two-Phase Approach to Beta Testing

The Beta release actually consists of two phases. The software released during Phase One is not to be used for the operation of your business. It can contain bugs that could disrupt your normal business operations. This beta software must be installed on a separate computer that does not contain your operational ("live") data.

Once all the reported bugs in Phase One have been addressed, we will proceed to Phase Two. In Phase Two we ship a "Go Live" release, which is a production-ready release that's suitable for the operation of your business. However, necessary precautions should be taken, including backing up your current operational ServiceCEO database before installing/using the "Go Live" release.

At the conclusion of the Beta testing period, a "Gold Release" will be made available to the general public. All Beta participants are required to upgrade to this "Gold Release" for continued operational use of ServiceCEO.
